Education Law is the practice of advising and representing public school teachers and educational support personnel in matters relating to their employment. The rights and obligations of school districts and their employees are found primarily in the California Education Code, the California Labor Code and the Educational Employment Relations Act (California Government Code sections 3540 et seq.
Education law may involve counseling and advising teachers individually or in groups, appearances before local school boards, the Office of Administrative Hearings and the state courts at the county court level or the Courts of Appeal.
